It is a well known problem with Mitsubishi EVO 10 series that it is fitted with plastic idler and tensioner pulleys which prone to wear. This causes the serpentine belt to wear and split. After the serpentine belt got damaged it may fall off.
Brass shim for the tensioner is included the set.
We are offering an idler and tensioner pulley upgrade from plastic to metal pulleys.
Evo X is fitted with a 4B11T engine. Our upgrade kit includes a Contitech serpentine belt.
Please note that you need to take the tensioner pulley off before fitting the tensioner assembly. There is no room to fit the tensioner with its metal pulley. The bolt on the tensioner has a reverse thread. Turn right (CW direction) to loose it.All bearings are NSK bearings.
