Nissan 350Z Timing Chain Kit with Water Pump

Japanese-made aftermarket 350Z timing chain kit with water pump for the 3.5 V6 petrol engine. Choose the VQ35DE or VQ35HR full kit from the options above. Both versions include the water pump.

The Nissan 350Z is also known as the Fairlady Z. The two engine versions use different timing components so please check your engine code before ordering.

VQ35DE Timing Chain Kit

• Nissan 350Z / Fairlady Z: VQ35DE 3.5 V6 models. Usually 2003–2006 model years.
• Nissan Murano Z50: VQ35DE 3.5 V6 models as listed for this kit.
• Infiniti G35 engine guide: 2003–2006 saloons and 2003–2007 coupes generally use VQ35DE.
• Infiniti FX35 engine guide: 2003–2008 models generally use VQ35DE.

VQ35DE also includes the RevUp engine version. Please tell us if you have a RevUp engine so we can check the supplied sprockets and optional VVT gears.

VQ35HR Timing Chain Kit

• Nissan 350Z / Fairlady Z: VQ35HR 3.5 V6 models. Usually 2007–2008 model years. Some cars were registered later.
• Infiniti G35 engine guide: 2007–2008 saloons generally use VQ35HR. The 2007 G35 coupe still uses VQ35DE.
• Infiniti FX35 engine guide: 2009–2012 models generally use VQ35HR.
• Nissan Skyline 350GT: check the engine code. The model name alone does not identify the correct kit.

Does This Kit Fit VQ37VHR Engines?

The 3.7 V6 engine used in models such as the Nissan 370Z and Infiniti Q50 3.7 and Q70 3.7 is called VQ37VHR. It is a different engine from VQ35HR. Do not select either 3.5-litre kit for a VQ37VHR engine without confirmed fitment. Q50 and Q70 hybrid versions also need a separate fitment check.

Use the engine code and VIN rather than registration year alone. If you are unsure which option to choose please contact us before ordering.

Optional VVT Camshaft Sprockets

The optional VVT sprocket set contains two German aftermarket VVT sprockets. These are an additional purchase and are not included in the standard kit price. Check suitability for your engine version before adding this option.

Timing Chain and Water Pump Replacement

A rattling timing chain can be caused by worn chains, guides or tensioners. Have the cause checked before replacing parts. This full kit brings the main timing components and water pump together for the repair.

The water pump sits behind the timing cover and is driven by the timing chain. Replacing it during timing chain work can avoid repeating access work later.

Follow the Nissan workshop procedure for your exact engine. Correct timing alignment and tensioner installation are essential. The photos below are reference images rather than a complete fitting guide.
