When Is This Timing Chain Kit Needed?

This is not normally considered a mileage-based service kit. The Aston Martin V12 engine is generally regarded as durable, so replacement should follow proper inspection and diagnosis rather than vehicle age alone.

The kit may be required if a specialist confirms timing-chain wear or slack, damaged guides, worn tensioners, timing faults or a persistent rattle from the timing-cover area. It can also be used during a complete engine rebuild.

The important detail is that the V12 timing drive uses two chains and two tensioners. This kit allows the main timing components on both sides of the engine to be renewed during the same repair. A rattle alone does not confirm timing-chain failure, so the engine should be properly diagnosed before ordering.
