BMW E24 Door Weatherstrip Repair Set for Both Doors

We supply our own BMW E24 upper and upper-side door seal repair set developed using genuine E24 door seals as the pattern. You recieve replacement rubber sections for both doors and rubber adhesive. This is a model-specific product rather than a universal seal set.

This kit replaces selected sections only. It does not contain two complete perimeter door seals. It repairs the upper and upper-side areas highlighted in the image below. The remaining sections of your existing seals stay in place.

What is included?

• 2 × 130 cm upper door seal sections highlighted in red.
• 2 × 55 cm upper-side seal sections highlighted in orange.
• 1 × rubber adhesive.

The supplied sections cover the indicated areas on the left and right doors. Measure the damaged sections before ordering to confirm that the suplied lengths cover your repair.

Which seals does this set repair?

These sections repair the body-side rubber weatherstrips around the door apertures. They are not the separate lower seals attached directly to the doors.

BMW supplied the original perimeter weatherstrip as a complete seal. Our set allows the affected upper sections to be replaced while retaining the serviceable remainder. It is intended for repairs where deterioration is confined to the areas shown.

Hardened rubber, water leaks and wind noise

Original E24 weatherstrips can become hard, flattened or cracked after decades of use. Badly perished sections may split or crumble during handling. Once the rubber loses its shape and flexibility it may no longer make consistent contact with the closed door and glass.

Gaps in the seal can allow water into the cabin and create wind noise at speed. Check for torn rubber and compressed sections around the upper door opening. Door and window alignment also afect sealing so inspect those before assuming every leak or noise comes from the weatherstrip.

Check the full length before starting a partial repair. If the remaining seal is also badly deteriorated then replacing only the upper sections will not address damage elsewhere.

Original BMW seal references

The references below identify the complete original door weatherstrips. This listing supplies repair sections for those seals rather than complete replacements.

Complete original seals are difficult to source new and established suppliers list them as unavailable. This repair set provides an alternative when the remaining original rubber is suitable to retain. It is our aftermarket product and is not supplied by BMW.

Measuring and fitting the repair sections

The replacement sections require trimming and joining to suit the repair. Work carefully around the retained rubber so that sound sections are not damaged during removal.

1. Inspect the existing seal and identify the upper and upper-side sections to replace.
2. Measure and mark the repair lengths before cutting the old rubber.
3. Remove the damaged sections and prepare the joining surfaces according to the adhesive instructions.
4. Trial-fit the replacement rubber and trim it to length without stretching it.
5. Carefully trim and align the upper corner joint so the two replacement sections meet correctly.
6. Use the supplied rubber adhesive and follow its curing instructions before checking the finished fit.

Measure twice and cut once. Check the corner joint and the transitions into the retained seal before applying adhesive. After curing check that the rubber seats correctly and that the door and glass close without displacing it.

The rubber adhesive is included. You dont need to order it seperately.
