As R404A is being phased out, lower-GWP refrigerants are becoming the preferred alternatives. R404A is becoming more expensive and less attractive to HVAC engineers.

This AC charging tool kit can be used when servicing systems that previously used R22, R404A, R502 or R407A. These older refrigerants are increasingly being replaced by R407F, R448A or R449A. The gauges are scaled for these replacement refrigerants.

To replace R404A, use R448A or R449A. These refrigerants are widely available in Europe and have a significantly lower global warming potential than R404A.

The kit includes suitable bottle and cylinder fittings that allow you to connect your 1/4-inch flare hoses. R407F, R448A and R449A are non-flammable refrigerants. The gauges are also scaled for R600A, which is a flammable refrigerant commonly used in domestic refrigerators and freezers.

Important: The R134A quick couplers are suitable for automotive air-conditioning systems but are not suitable for domestic R134A refrigerators.

Service-Port Fittings

R22 imperial fitting: for connecting to older R22 systems and systems using replacement refrigerants.
R22 metric fitting.
R410A fitting.
R32 fitting.

These fittings are used to connect the charging equipment to the service ports of air-conditioning systems and heat-pump units.

Canister and Cylinder Adaptors

Universal canister tap valve: silver-coloured and also suitable for R600A canisters.
7/16-inch R600A tap valve: red-coloured. Please make sure your canister has a 7/16-inch thread.
M14 R134A tap valve: green-coloured.
1/2-inch to 1/4-inch ACME flare tap valve: gold-coloured.
R410A/R407F adaptor: for connecting to heat-pump units.
R32 adaptor: for connecting to heat-pump units.
BOC cylinder adaptor: 21.8 female connection with a 1/4-inch male flare outlet. Suitable for most non-flammable refrigerant cylinders.
R32 cylinder adaptor: 1/4-inch male flare outlet. Suitable for R32, R1234YF and R600A cylinders.
