VW 2.0 TDI 16V PD Injector and Rocker Bolt Set – 13 Pieces

This bolt set contains the five injector rocker shaft bolts and eight injector hold-down bolts used on selected VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda 2.0 TDI 16-valve PD engines. It is useful when replacing injectors or their seals and during engine work that requires removal of the injector rocker shaft.

Bolts included

• 5 × injector rocker shaft bolts – M8 × 58 mm. VW OE N 105 811 01 (N10581101).
• 8 × injector hold-down bolts – M6 × 88 mm. VW OE WHT 003 179 (WHT003179); also listed against 03G 103 385 A.

Total: 13 bolts. OE numbers are supplied for identification. The bolt set does not include camshaft bearing cap bolts, injector adjuster screws, ball pins or injector seals. Seal sets for all four injectors can be added using the checkboxes.

When should these bolts be replaced?

• Injector replacement or removal: renew the hold-down bolts and any rocker shaft bolts removed to gain access. Fit fresh injector seals when refitting a used injector.
• Injector seal replacement: the injectors and rocker shaft are removed as part of the job, so the relevant bolts should be replaced.
• Camshaft, injector rocker or cylinder head work: replace these bolts whenever those fasteners have been removed during the repair. Other bolts needed for the job are sold separately.

These are stretch bolts. They are tightened by a specified torque and additional angle, which stretches the bolt to provide the intended clamp load. A used bolt may look fine but cannot be relied upon to clamp in the same way a second time. Follow the workshop procedure for your exact engine code when fitting the injectors and setting the rocker adjustment.

Why are there eight injector bolts for four injectors?

On these 16-valve PD engines each injector is held by two bolts. Four injectors therefore need eight hold-down bolts. The separate rocker shaft is secured by five larger bolts. This is a useful check before ordering: a four-bolt injector clamp kit belongs to a different layout and is not a substitute for this 13-piece set.

Vehicle and engine fitment

For selected 2.0 TDI 16-valve PD / PPD engines. The years below are approximate application periods for the listed models and engines, not a guarantee that every 2.0 TDI in that year uses these bolts. Match the engine code and existing bolt references before ordering.

• VW Passat B6 saloon and estate (3C2 / 3C5), approx. 2005–2009 PD versions: BWV, BVE, BMA, BKP, BUZ, BMR.
• VW Golf Mk5 (1K), Jetta Mk5 (1K) and Touran (1T), approx. 2003–2010 PD versions: AZV, BKD and BMN where fitted.
• Audi A3 / Sportback (8P), approx. 2003–2009 PD versions: AZV, BKD, BUY and BMN.
• Audi A4 / Avant (B7 / 8E), approx. 2005–2008 PD versions: BVA and BRD.
• SEAT Altea (5P), Leon Mk2 (1P) and Toledo Mk3 (5P), approx. 2004–2010 PD versions: AZV, BKD and BMN where fitted.
• Skoda Octavia Mk2 (1Z), approx. 2004–2010 PD versions: AZV, BKD and BMN. Selected Superb Mk2 (3T) BKD applications also use these bolt references.

Not for common-rail 2.0 TDI engines. Some model ranges changed from PD to common rail while keeping the same 2.0 TDI badge. Check the actual engine and injector type, especially on later cars.

Optional injector seal sets – choose the correct injector type

Each checkbox adds one complete four-injector pack: four individual seal kits, one for each injector in a four-cylinder engine. You do not need to select a quantity of four. Choose one seal type only after checking the part number or manufacturer on the injectors. The two seal types are not interchangeable.

Option 1: Bosch PD injector seals – 4-injector pack

Bosch 1 417 010 996 (1417010996) is a repair seal kit for a Bosch PD unit injector. The four-injector option supplies 4 × 1417010996. The VW reference commonly associated with this Bosch seal family is 03G 198 051 (also listed as 03G 198 051 A); this is a cross reference for the seal kit, not a claim that 03G 198 051 D is the same kit. Relevant Bosch-equipped 2.0 TDI 16V PD engine codes include AZV and BKD. Check the injector itself because engine swaps and injector revisions can change what is fitted.

Option 2: Siemens/VDO PPD injector seals – 4-injector pack

VW 03G 198 051 D (03G198051D) is the seal kit for the relevant Siemens/VDO piezo PD injector family. The four-injector option supplies 4 × 03G198051D. Elring 690.170 and ET Engineteam TM0042 are aftermarket cross references for this seal kit. Each individual kit contains injector sealing parts and the injector adjuster screw/ball components supplied with that kit; check the selected brand's pack contents before listing individual items as included.

Applicable engine codes identified for this seal family include BKP, BMA, BMN, BMR, BRD, BUY, BUZ, BVA, BVD, BVE and BWV. Typical vehicles are the Passat B6 (BKP, BMA, BMR, BUZ, BVE, BWV), Golf Mk5 / Jetta / Touran / Octavia Mk2 / Leon Mk2 (BMN), Audi A3 (BUY, BMN) and Audi A4 B7 (BVA, BRD). Check the actual injector number before selecting this option; 03G198051D is associated with Siemens/VDO injector families including 03G 130 073 D/M and their replacement numbers.

Fitting note: A new seal will not repair a worn injector body or a damaged injector bore in the cylinder head. Inspect those surfaces before refitting. The workshop procedure also calls for renewal of the injector adjuster screw and ball pin when the injector adjustment has been disturbed. Check the contents of the chosen seal pack and follow the correct procedure for your engine.
