VW 1.9 TDI PD Camshaft Bolt Set – 22 Pieces
This 1.9 TDI PD camshaft bolt set contains 22 replacement stretch bolts for the camshaft bearing caps, injector rocker shafts and injector clamps. Suitable for camshaft and hydraulic lifter replacement or more extensive cylinder head repairs on compatible VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda 1.9 TDI PD engines.

- 10 x M6 x 54 mm camshaft bearing cap bolts – OE references 038103714 / 038103714G.
- 8 x M8 x 90 mm injector rocker shaft bolts – OE reference 038103714A.

10 x camshaft bearing cap bolts – 038103714G
M6 x 54 mm. These bolts secure the camshaft bearing caps. OE references: 038103714 / 038103714G.
8 x injector rocker shaft bolts – 038103714A
M8 x 90 mm. These bolts secure the injector rocker shafts on compatible 1.9 TDI PD 8-valve engines. OE reference: 038103714A.
4 x injector clamp bolts – 038103385A
M6 x 64 mm. These bolts secure the unit injector clamps. OE reference: 038103385A.
Why should these stretch bolts be replaced?
Stretch bolts are tightened using a specified torque followed by an additional angle. This produces the clamping force needed to hold the parts securely. The tightening process permanently stretches the bolt, so a used bolt may no longer provide the intended clamping force when tightened again.
A bolt can look undamaged and still be unsuitable for reuse. Refitting old stretch bolts can lead to unreliable clamping or bolt failure. Replace the relevant bolts whenever the camshaft bearing caps, rocker shafts or injector clamps are removed. New bolts are a small part of the repair cost compared with having to repeat the work.
Useful to know: the PD camshaft also operates the injectors
The 1.9 TDI PD camshaft opens the valves and also has four extra lobes that operate the unit injectors through roller rocker arms. This is why a camshaft repair involves the injector rocker assembly as well as the valve gear. The injector adjustment must be reset after the camshaft and rocker shafts are fitted. Simply putting everything back in its previous position does not replace this adjustment. Follow the workshop procedure for your engine code.

For compatible four-cylinder 1.9 TDI PD 8-valve engines. Common applications include:
- Volkswagen: Golf, Bora and Passat.
- Audi: A3, A4 and A6.
- SEAT: Ibiza, Leon and Toledo.
- Skoda: Fabia, Octavia and Superb.
Engine-code examples include ASZ, ATD, AVB, AVF, AWX, AXR, BJB, BLS and BXE. This is a short application guide rather than a complete fitment list. Check the engine code and OE bolt references before ordering. This set is not intended for earlier non-PD 1.9 TDI engines.
Fitting notes
Follow the specified tightening sequence, torque settings and angle stages for each bolt type. The four injector clamp bolts are used when the injectors are removed; injector removal is not required for every camshaft replacement. This set contains the 22 bolts listed above and does not include cylinder head bolts or camshaft pulley bolts.
