VW 1.9 TDI PD Camshaft Bolt Set: 22 Pieces
We supply this 22-piece camshaft bolt set for compatible VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda 1.9 TDI PD engines. You recieve ten camshaft bearing cap bolts, eight injector rocker shaft bolts and four injector clamp bolts.
The set is for camshaft and hydraulic lifter replacement or cylinder head repairs involving removal of these fasteners. It covers the three bolt groups listed below. Cylinder head bolts and camshaft pulley bolts arent included.

Replace the bolts when removed
These stretch bolts use a specified torque followed by additional angle tightening. Renew the relevant bolts whenever the camshaft bearing caps, injector rocker shafts or injector clamps are removed. A used bolt can look undamaged and still be unsuitable for reuse.
Each bolt type has its own tightening procedure. Follow the correct sequence, torque settings and angle stages for your egnine code. Dont apply one setting to all 22 bolts or substitute a similar-looking bolt.
The PD camshaft also operates the injectors
The 1.9 TDI PD camshaft opens the valves and has four additional lobes that operate the unit injectors through roller rocker arms. This is why a camshaft repair involves the injector rocker assembly as well as the valve gear.
Reset the injector adjustment after fitting the camshaft and rocker shafts. Returning the adjusters to their previous positions doesnt replace this step. Follow the workshop procedure for the engine code and inspect the rocker rollers and adjustment components during the repair.
Injector removal isnt required for every camshaft replacement. The four injector clamp bolts are included for jobs where the injectors are removed. If they remain installed their clamp bolts arent disturbed simply because the camshaft is being changed.

This set isnt intended for earlier non-PD 1.9 TDI engines. The 1.9 TDI badge alone doesnt confirm suitability.
Fitting notes
Keep the bearing cap, rocker shaft and injector clamp bolts identified throughout the repair. Their lengths and tightening requirements differ. Additional fasteners and seals needed for the job must be sourced seperately.
If the injectors are removed fit new seals and inspect the injector bodies and cylinder-head bores before refitting. New bolts and seals wont repair worn sealing surfaces. Have the work completed by a mechanic familiar with VW Group PD engines.
